Description

A stunning Victorian 1890's British glass "thorn" vase. Consists of a tubular opalescent yellow green glass flower holder with rustic stylised tree root "feet", and pulled out thorns. A similar vase is shown in the book Victorian Decorative Glass by Mervyn Gulliver, page 98. Most likely made by John Walsh Walsh from Birmingham, England. Made in vaseline/uranium glass, which glows bright green in UV light.

Size

Measures approx 4.5 inches tall by 2.5 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

No chips or cracks other than a couple of nicks to the thorns, a nibble to the end of one of the "feet", and some internal water staining from use, all shown in final pictures.
