Murano Red & Uranium Sommerso Glass Decorative Bottle

Description

Here is a wonderful 1950/60's Venetian glass decorative bottle, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy. In a stunning combination of red glass cased in very pale uranium yellow glass, using the renowned Venetian sommerso technique. The small amounts of uranium in the glass cause this bottle to glow bright green in UV light.

Measures approx 8.25 inches tall by 3.75 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks, just some minor staining to the inside from use, which I have tried to show in the final picture.
