Walther & Söhne Art Deco Uranium Green Glass 'Athene' Bowl & Plate

Description

A wonderful art deco green glass dessert bowl and plate.  Made by German company Auguste Walther & Söhne in the 1930's, part of their 'Athene' pattern range, and is featured in their 1934 product catalogue. Glows bright green in UV light, due to small amounts of uranium in the glass mixture, a feature which has become very collectable these days.

Size

Bowl measures approx 2 inches tall by 4.5 inches in diameter at widest point.
Plate measures approx 1 inches tall by 5.75 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks.
