Wedgwood Orange + Black Glass Elephant Paperweight RSW409

Description

A stunning British orange + black speckled glass paperweight sculpture of an elephant (trunk down). Made by Wedgwood, pattern number RSW409 (later SG409). From the range of animals + plants designed by Ronald Stennett-Willson and Paul Miller in the 1970's. I am told by a very knowledgeable friend (hi Rosie), who knows everything there is to know about glass animals, that although the colours are unusual for Wedgwood, this piece is definitely by Wedgwood (she has the same piece in the same colours, marked to base) and was made shortly after King's Lynn became Wedgwood Glass.

Size

Measures approx 4 inches tall by 3.75 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

No chips or cracks, just a dull patch to the surface on one side below the ear, and a small scratch on the opposite side, all shown in final pictures.
