Description
A beautiful
Scandinavian style 1970's blue 'hooped' cased glass vase. Manufacturer unknown, but most likely made in
Romania or
Japan. I recently had the same straight sided vase in green, and without the clear casing, which had a
"Made in Roumania" label [
click here]. "Roumania" was the English spelling for Romania up until around 1975. However, I was also recently shown images of a vase identical to this one, but with tapering sides (narrower at the rim than the base), with a label that reads
"Napcoware Import - Japan". It seems maybe one factory copied another, or purchased the moulds from the other. Possibly the cased versions are Japanese, and the uncased versions Romanian, but both the cased and uncased straight sided vases have identical dimensions and shape.
Size
Measures approx 10 inches tall by 2.75 inches in diameter at widest point.
Condition
Excellent condition, no chips or cracks, just a couple of small, faint surface scratches.
