Galliano Ferro Murano Sommerso Red & Amber Glass Stem Vase

Description

Here is a wonderful 1950/60's Venetian glass stem vase, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy, by Galliano Ferro. In a stunning combination of red glass cased in amber glass, which is further encased in clear glass, using the renowned Venetian sommerso technique.

Size

Measures approx 9.75 inches tall by 3 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

No chips or cracks other than a couple of minute fleabites to the top inside rim, most likely from the manufacturing process when the rim was ground flat. There is also a tiny fleabite sized scratch to one side near the base. All shown in final pictures. Also worth mentioning, as can be seen in the photos and is often the case with these vases, the side lobes are a bit uneven / not symmetrical, a quirk of hand blown glass.
