Murano Venetian Pulegoso Glass Vintage Decorative Bottle

Description

Here is a magnificent large Venetian glass decorative bottle, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy. The glass is made up of thousands of tiny air bubbles to give a frothy effect, known as the pulegoso technique, made popular by Venini in the 1930's.

Size

Measures approx 12 inches tall (including stopper) by 5.5 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Has a tiny fracture to the applied amber part of the rim, and some chips/roughness to the end of the stopper, all shown in final pictures. The stopper is a very loose fitting - it can be positioned to look straight, but can very easily slip to one side with the slightest movement. Listed as decorative only, as there is no tight seal for containing liquor.
