Mdina 'Blue Summer' Maltese Glass Threaded Bottle / Vase

Description

A wonderful blue Maltese glass bottle vase with yellow green speckles and applied threaded trailing, by Mdina, unsigned. The inside neck is ground, indicating this would originally have come with a matching stopper, which is now missing, but it can still be used as a vase. This pattern is often referred to as Sea and Sand by collectors, however according to the new Mdina book by Mark Warner, the correct name for this range is Blue Summer.

Size

Measures approx 9.5 inches tall by 3.25 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks. Has a large indentation to the base, which is the remains of the pontil scar, see final picture.
