Murano Glass Zanfirico Fazzoletto Handkerchief Vase

Description

A stunning Venetian glass "Handkerchief Vase", also known as a "Fazzoletto Vase", made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy. It has a concave polished pontil mark to the base. Decorated with white zanfirico lattice filigree, and alternating stripes of blue, orange, pink, and green twisted ribbons.

Size

Measures approx 4 inches tall by 4.75 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks, just a couple of manufacturing flaws: small nodules of extra glass to the inside rim, shown in final picture. They were probably joined by a thin strand of glass which has then been removed, as they are a little sharp.
