Murano / Venetian Blue & Amber Sommerso Glass Swan / Duck

Description

Here is a wonderful 1950/60's Venetian glass swan or duck sculpture, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy.  In a stunning combination of blue glass cased in amber glass, which is further encased in clear glass, using the renowned Venetian sommerso technique.

Size

Measures approx 7 inches tall by 4 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, just a tiny rough finish to the tip of the beak, could be a really tiny fleabite or just the way it was made. There is also some roughness to the "forehead", which is definitely a tooling mark from manufacture and quite common with these birds. All shown in final pictures.
