Murano / Venetian Blue & Amber Sommerso Glass Swan Figurine

Description

Here is a wonderful 1950/60's Venetian glass swan or duck sculpture, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy. In a stunning combination of blue glass cased in amber glass, which is further encased in clear glass, using the renowned Venetian Sommerso technique.

Size

Measures approx 9 inches tall by 3 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

No chips or cracks, just some roughness to the birds "bottom", where it would have been attached to the blowing pipe, before being removed and then having the base section added. Also has a couple of scratches. All shown in final pictures.
