Barbini Murano Red & Blue Sommerso Glass Biomorphic Bowl

Description

Here is a wonderful 1950/60's Venetian biomorphic glass ashtray bowl, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy. Made by Barbini, no marks or labels, but bowls from this range can be found online with their factory label. In fact at the time of listing this, I have another listed separately, that still has the label. This shape can also be found in an old catalogue page of Barbini products for Weil Ceramics & Glass, see photo (top row, second from left). In a stunning combination of red glass cased in blue glass, which is further encased in clear glass, using the Venetian developed sommerso technique.

Size

Measures approx 2.5 inches tall by 6 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks.
