Galliano Ferro Murano Red & Amber Sommerso Glass Geode Bowl

Description

Here is a wonderful large and very heavy (1.8 kilos unpacked) 1950/60's Venetian glass geode bowl, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy. Attributed to Galliano Ferro, similar items with this large dimple effect have been seen with labels. In a stunning combination of red glass cased in encased in amber glass, using the renowned Venetian sommerso technique.

Size

Measures approx 3.25 inches tall by 5 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

No chips or cracks aside from a tiny fleabite and a couple of surface scratches to the top rim, shown in final picture.
