Aureliano Toso founded the company Decorativi Rag Aureliano Toso in 1938. The renowned painter Dino Martens began designing for the company in 1939. His designed are famous for the use of patches of Aventurine, filigree canes, Latticino/Zanfirico, and multicoloured murrines. The most well known designs are probably Dino Martens Oriente range.

Mezza Filigrana
There are many copies of this popular pattern. Most are modern Chinese, mainly birds and other animals in black and white. They are of much lower quality, with larger spaces of clear glass between the filigrana. Use the examples below and learn how to spot the difference.
