Description

A wonderful set of three Victorian pressed glass basket shaped bowls, made in blue milk glass (also known as vitro-porcelain glass. Made by British company Sowerby in the 1880's, all three bear their trademark of a peacock, and the oval basket also has a design lozenge on the inside base. This design, pattern number 1192 1/2 is shown on page 2 of Sowerby's Illustrated Pattern Book No IX, issued in June 1882. the other two bowls are pattern number 1102, shown on page 1 of the same catalogue. This particular colour range was called Turquoise.

Size

Oval bowl measures approx 3 inches tall by 4.25 inches in diameter at widest point.
Circular bowls measure approx 3 inches tall by 3.5 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

All are in excellent condition, no chips or cracks.
