Walther & Söhne 1930's Art Deco Blue Glass 'Windsor' Vase

Description

A wonderful art deco blue glass vase. Made by German company Auguste Walther & Söhne in the 1930's, part of their 'Windsor' pattern range, and is featured in their 1934 product catalogue.

Size

Measures approx 6.25 inches tall by 8 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

No chips or cracks other than a tiny nibble to the base rim, and a couple of manufacturing "straw marks", all shown in final pictures. These straw marks can look a little bit like cracks to the untrained eye, but they are a common occurrence in pressed glass, created when a fold or cut edge of the hot molten glass is pressed into the mould. They are mostly on the surface and don't pass through the thickness of the glass like a crack would.
