The glassware shown below is made by Cristalleria Artistica Toscana (C.A.T.), a glass factory in or close to the town of Empoli, Italy, that produced glassware during the 1960's and later. This information comes from the facebook group Murano Glass/Italian Art Glass, Empoli, for GLGD, in particular a very helpful lady, whose family has been involved in Empoli glass production since the 1950's. These items are attributed to Alrose in Leslie Pina's book Italian Glass: Century 20. It is now known that Alrose is not the manufacturer, but an American importer of Italian glass + pottery. The same items can sometimes be found in the UK with Hans Geismar import labels (British importer). They can also be found with small red "Italian Glass" labels, commonly found on glassware made in the Empoli region of Italy.
