Description

This is a magnificent large and heavy 1950/60's Venetian sculptural glass pheasant bird, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy. Made by Archimede Seguso. In a stunning combination of opaque pink and white glass, known as alabastro glass. This design, in gold leaf instead of alabastro, is shown in the book "Archimede Seguso, Mid-mod Glass From Murano" by Leslie Pina, page 138.

Size

Measures approx 8.25 inches tall by 13 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, has a couple of nicks to the base rim, and possibly some minor restoration done to the tip of one of the leaves on the base, but if so this has been done very well, as it is barely noticeable. All shown in final pictures.
