Ferro & Lazzarini Murano Blue & Green Sommerso Glass Duck Bottle

Description

Here is a wonderful 1950/60's Venetian glass duck or swan sculpture, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy, by the Ferro & Lazzarini factory. No markings, but examples can be found online, with the factory label. Originally made as a bottle with a cork stopper in the end of the tail (now missing) for the Drioli liqueur company. In a stunning combination of green glass cased in blue glass, which is further encased in clear glass, using the renowned Venetian sommerso technique. Reference: [click here].
