Murano Faceted, Textured Purple & Uranium Sommerso Glass Vase

Description

Here is a wonderful chunky, heavy, part textured Venetian glass vase, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy. A generic design made by Mandruzzato, Bucella Cristalli and Campanella. In a stunning combination of purple glass cased in a band of blue glass, followed by a band of yellow green glass, which is further encased in an angular block of clear glass, using the renowned Venetian sommerso technique. The yellow green layer contains small amounts of Uranium in the glass, causing the vase to glow bright green in UV light, a feature which has become very collectable these days.

Please note: Someone has added small clear rubber "feet" to the four corners of the base, to protect it from age wear. I have left these in place rather than try to remove them.

Measures approx. 7 inches tall by 3.75 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks.
