MARKED Venini Murano Glass Gold Leaf 'Sommerso a Bollicine' Bowl

Product Number: WS12001

 Sold / Reference

Description

Here is an exquisite 1940's Venetian green glass bowl with gold leaf inclusions + frothy bubbles encased in the glass. Made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy, by famous manufacturers Venini, and designed by Carlo Scarpa. The technique is known as 'Sommerso a Bollicine'. Has the circular Venini acid stamp manufacturing mark to the base, which reads: "Venini, Murano, Italy". As is often the case, this mark is very faint and hard to make out, but I have tried to show it in the second picture.

Please note: the plastic stand is for display purposes only and is not included.

Size

Measures approx. 2.75 inches tall by 3.5 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks, just some base wear scratches as to be expected.
