Murano Geode Pink & Turquoise Sommerso Glass Oval Bowl

Description

Here is a wonderful 1950/60's Venetian glass 'geode' bowl/dish, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy. These bowls were made by several manufacturers, including Archimede Seguso and Cenedese. Very similar items by these makers are shown in the book Italian Glass: Century 20 by Leslie Pina. In a stunning combination of cranberry pink glass encased in turquoise glass, using the renowned Venetian sommerso technique.

Measures approx 1.25 inches tall by 3.5 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks other than a tiny nick to the outside edge of the rim, shown in final picture.
