Ferro & Lazzarini Murano Red & Blue Sommerso Glass Swan

Description

Here is a wonderful 1950/60's Venetian glass swan sculpture, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy, by the Ferro & Lazzarini factory. Unmarked, but I once had the exact same design in blue and amber, with the original triangular factory label. In a stunning combination of red glass cased in blue glass, which is further encased in clear glass, using the renowned Venetian sommerso technique.

Size

Measures approx 5.5 inches tall by 6.25 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks, just an intact manufacturing air bubble inside the glass, shown in final picture. Perfectly normal for hand blown glass.
