Arte Nuova Pustetto & Zanetti Murano Sommerso Uranium Glass Vase

Description

A large and heavy Venetian glass sculpture vase / bowl, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy.  Made by Arte Nuova in the 1950's/60's. Still bears the original factory label which reads "Arte Nuova Murano, Pustetto & Zanetti, Made in Italy". The factory was open only for a relatively short time, from 1954 to 1965. Consists of pink glass encased in uranium yellow glass, which is further encased in clear glass, using the Venetian developed sommerso technique. Glows bright green in UV light.
