Arte Nuova Murano Sommerso Red & Uranium Green Glass Bowl

Description

Here is a wonderful 1950/60's Venetian glass bowl, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy. Made by Arte Nuova in the 1950's/60's, unmarked, but this design can be found online with a label which reads "Arte Nuova Murano, Pustetto & Zanetti, Made in Italy". In a stunning combination of cranberry red/pink glass cased in vaseline/uranium yellow green glass, which is further encased in clear glass, using the renowned Venetian sommerso technique. The small amounts of Uranium in the glass cause this vase to glow a brilliant bright green in UV light.

Measures approx 2 inches tall by 5 inches in diameter at widest point.
