Murano Blue & Uranium Green Sommerso Glass Cockerel Figurine

Description

Here is a wonderful 1950/60's Venetian glass cockerel sculpture, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy.  In a stunning combination of blue glass cased in uranium green glass, which is further encased in clear glass, using the renowned Venetian sommerso technique. Glows bright green in UV light. Still bears the original Hans Geismar Venetian Glass import label (very worn and unreadable).

Measures approx 9.5 inches tall by 4 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks.
