Murano / Venetian Pink & Blue Organic Sommerso Glass Bowl

Description

Here is a wonderful Venetian organic glass bowl, possibly intended as a cigar ashtray, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy. In a stunning combination of pink glass encased in blue glass, which is further encased in clear glass, using the Venetian developed sommerso technique.

Size

Measures approx 3 inches tall by 6 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks. The tip of the pulled out section has a slightly bevelled, highly polished edge to it. I cannot decide if this is the result of professional restoration, or just the way it was made at the factory. I have taken several pictures to show this.
