LABELLED Bucella Cristalli Murano Blue & Green Glass Aventurine Vase

Description

This is a magnificent Venetian glass miniature vase, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy.  Made by Bucella Cristalli, and still bears the factory label, which reads "Bucella Cristalli, Murano, Made in Italy". Made with alternating stripes of blue and green ribbon filigree, and copper aventurine.

Please note: Although this vase is obviously too small to hold a bunch of flowers, it is still classed as a vase. Small vases like this were often used to hold flower heads, or miniature "sweetpea" flowers, or simply used as decorative ornaments. Perfume bottles are also made in this style, but the neck is usually narrower, and ground to give a tight seal.

Measures approx 2.5 inches tall by 2 inches in diameter at widest point.

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks.
