Murano Faceted Green & Amber Sommerso Glass Bowl - Label

Description

Here is a wonderful Venetian glass bowl, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy. This style of glassware is usually attributed to Mandruzzato, although other manufacturers have made similar items, including Oball, Campanella and V. Nason. In a stunning combination of green glass cased in a band of amber glass, which is further encased in an angular block of clear glass, using the renowned Venetian sommerso technique. Still bears the original Murano label, which reads "Cristal V. M. P. Made in Murano".

Size

Measures approx 2.25 inches tall by 3 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Has a small nick to one bottom corner, a couple of minute fleabites to the inside rim, and a slightly bevelled, polished side edge which could possibly be the result of restoration (tiny chips ground out) or could just be the way it was made at the factory. All shown in final pictures.
