Large Murano Faceted Pink & Amber Sommerso Glass Block Bowl

Description

Here is a magnificent, large and heavy (1.6 kilos unpacked) Venetian glass bowl/ashtray, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy. This style of glassware is usually attributed to Mandruzzato, although other manufacturers have made similar items, including Oball, Campanella and V. Nason. In a stunning combination of pink glass cased in a band of amber glass, which is further encased in an angular block of clear glass, using the renowned Venetian sommerso technique.

Measures approx 2.5 inches tall by 5.5 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

No chips or cracks other than a couple of tiny fleabites to the outside rim, shown in final picture.
