Murano Faceted Blue & Uranium Green Sommerso Glass Block Bowl

Description

Here is a wonderful Venetian glass bowl/ashtray, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy. This style of glassware is usually attributed to Mandruzzato, although other manufacturers have made similar items, including Oball, Campanella and V. Nason. In a stunning combination of blue glass cased in a band of uranium yellow green glass, which is further encased in an angular block of blue glass, using the renowned Venetian sommerso technique. The middle layer glows bright green in UV light.

Measures approx 3 inches tall by 4 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, just a couple of tiny fleabites to the rim, and a small manufacturing flaw / dimple to one corner, all shown in final pictures.
