LABELLED Ferro & Lazzarini Murano Green & Amber Glass Pheasant

Description

Here is a wonderful 1950/60's Venetian glass bird sculpture, a pheasant I think, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy, by the Ferro & Lazzarini factory. Still bears the original factory label. Examples of a slightly larger version of this label can be found online, with the factory name included. In a stunning combination of green and amber glass encased in clear glass, with applied red glass features.

Size

Measures approx 12.75 inches tall by 10.5 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks. The very tip of the tail feels a little rough, with a dull-ish finish, which can sometimes be a sign of possible restoration, but there doesn't seem to be any glass missing. Could well just be how it left the factory, but I like to cover all possibilities. Shown in final picture.
