Ferro & Lazzarini Murano Blue & Green Sommerso Glass Dog Bottle

Description

Here is a wonderful 1950/60's Venetian glass dog sculpture, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy, by the Ferro & Lazzarini factory. No markings, but examples can be found online, with the factory label. Originally made as a bottle with a cork stopper (now missing) for the Drioli liqueur company. Can also be used as a stem vase. In a stunning combination of blue glass cased in green glass, which is further encased in clear glass, using the renowned Venetian sommerso technique. Reference: [click here].

Measures approx 5.5 inches tall by 3 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks, just a small rough patch, a manufacturing flaw, to the back, shown in final picture.
