Description
A blue & white marbled vase, made in the region of
Empoli, near Florence, Italy. Although very similar in form and style to glassware by
Vetreria Barbieri (
V.B. opaline Florence), this pattern has now been identified as being made by
Vetreria Artistica Sanminiatello (
V.A.S.), a glass factory in Montelupo, a few km from Empoli. This information comes from the facebook group
Murano Glass/Italian Art Glass, Empoli, for GLGD, in particular a very helpful lady, whose family has been involved in Empoli glass production since the 1950's.
Size
Measures approx 9.5 inches tall by 4.5 inches in diameter at widest point.
Condition
Excellent condition, no chips or cracks, just an intact manufacturing air bubble in the rim, shown in final picture.
