Sowerby #1192½ Victorian Blue Milk Glass Antique Basket Bowl

Description

A wonderful Victorian pressed glass basket bowl, made in blue milk glass (also known as vitro-porcelain glass. Made by British company Sowerby in the 1880's, and bears their trademark of a peacock and a design lozenge on the inside base. This design, pattern number 1192½ is shown on page 2 of Sowerby's Illustrated Pattern Book No IX, issued in June 1882. This particular colour range was called Turquoise.

Size

Measures approx 3 inches tall by 4.25 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks.
