Borske Sklo or Empoli Vintage Blue Glass Optical 'Olives' Vase

Description

A stunning blue glass optical mould blown vase with optical 'Olives' design. Probably Czech and made by the Borske Sklo glassworks. Similar items are shown in the book "Hi Sklo Lo Sklo" by Mark Hill, pages 68 & 69. However most other examples I've had and seen online have a flat ground rim, whereas this one has a rounded, fire polished finish. For this reason I can't be certain of the origin. Another possibility would be the Italian region of Empoli, where similar items were made.

Size

Measures approx 8 inches tall by 4.25 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks.
