Description

A wonderful art deco frosted turquoise glass semi-nude lady figurine. Made by Schweig, Müller & Co of Germany in the 1930's. Unmarked, but very similar examples have been found with the base marked "REGISTERED 749772 FOREIGN". The design numbers 749772/3 were registered by English importer L. Cohen on November 4th, 1929. There are at least 2 known variations of this design, with the only real difference being the hair style. It is thought one design was from the 1920's, which was later modified for the 1930's as fashions changed. Reference: [click here] and [here]. Small amounts of uranium in the glass mixture cause it to glow green under UV light, a harmless and interesting feature which has become very collectable these days.
