Neodymium/Alexandrite Italian/Murano Glass Dolphin - Labelled

Description

This is a stunning sculptural glass dolphin.  Italian/Murano in origin, and still bears the original label which reads "Tino Luvie, Cristalli E Ceramiche D'Arte".  Made in very unusual and quite rare neodymium glass (also known as alexandrite glass), which changes colour according to different lighting conditions!!  The vase appears lilac in natural sunlight or yellow artificial light, and smoky blue in fluorescent/white light (see pictures)!   This is due to the presence of neodymium oxide (Nd²O³) in the glass.

Size

Measures approx 4 inches tall by 6 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

No chips or cracks other than a really minute fleabite to the tip of the tail, shown in final picture, and a couple of minor surface scratches.
