Barbini Vintage Murano Glass Gold Leaf 'Circus Tent' Bowl

Description

Here is a wonderful large and heavy 1950/60's Venetian freeform biomorphic glass "circus tent" bowl / ashtray, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy. Made by Barbini, unmarked, but this design can be found in an old catalogue page of Barbini products for Weil Ceramics & Glass, see photo. In a stunning combination of opaque creamy white glass encased in clear glass, with lilac stripes, and loads of gold leaf in the glass to the inside / top.

Measures approx 2.75 inches tall by 7.25 inches in diameter at widest point.
