Aseda #667 Swedish Vintage Red Glass Bubble Ashtray Bowl

Description

A stunning, large and heavy Swedish glass bowl/ashtray. Made by Aseda Glasbruk, shown in their 1972 catalogue, pattern number 667. Consists of red glass cased in clear glass, with a controlled bubble effect encased in the glass. Wrongly identified as F.W. Johanson in the book Scandinavian Glass - Fire & Sea by Leslie Pina, page 83, due to a piece bearing his signature. F.W. Johanson was a glass retailer who bought from several factories and then added his own labels and signatures, sometimes also including his home town Orrefors, which has led to some confusion and mis-attributions.

Measures approx 2.25 inches tall by 6 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks, just a few small surface scratches.
