Sowerby Pink Art Deco Glass 1950's Bird + Panel Vase

Description

A wonderful art deco frosted pink glass 'Bird and Panel' vase. This design was originally made by British company Jobling in the 1930's, catalogue number 11400, and is featured in the book "A Collectors Guide to Jobling 1930's Decorative Glass", page 18. However, the same design is also shown in Sowerby's catalogue titled "List 39" from the 1950's [link]. From a forum discussion on the Glass Message Board [here], it seems some of Joblings moulds were sold off to other companies. So this design was made by both Jobling and Sowerby. Judging from the colour, and lack of a design registration number, I suspect this vase is the later Sowerby version.

Size

Measures approx 7.5 inches tall by 3.5 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks, just some minor internal staining from use, see final picture.
