Murano/Venetian Red & Uranium Green Sommerso Glass Vase

Description

Here is a wonderful Venetian freeform glass vase, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy. In a stunning combination of cherry red glass cased in vaseline/uranium yellow green glass, which is further encased in clear glass, using the renowned Venetian sommerso technique. The small amounts of Uranium in the glass cause this vase to glow a brilliant bright green in UV light.

Measures approx 11 inches tall by 5 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks other than a couple of tiny fleabites to the base rim, shown in final picture.
