Arte Nuova Pustetto & Zanetti Murano Brown & Amber Sommerso Glass Vase

Description

Here is a wonderful Venetian organic glass vase, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy.  Most likely made by Arte Nuova in the 1950's/60's, unmarked. Similar examples from this range can be found online, sometimes baring labels which read "Arte Nuova Murano, Grand Prize, Genuine Venetian Glass, World Fair Brussels 1958". Other examples have a label which reads "Arte Nuova Murano, Pustetto & Zanetti, Made in Italy".  The factory was open only for a relatively short time, from 1954 to 1965. In a stunning combination of reddish brown glass encased in amber glass, which is further encased in clear glass, using the Venetian developed sommerso technique.

Size

Measures approx 8 inches tall by 5 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Has a couple of small nicks to the base rim, a tiny fleabite to one side near the base, and some minor stains / dirt inside from use, all shown in final pictures.
